Where are good vacation spots? I know Sareksan and Jeju, but anyone have some good ones that might be less well known (and perhaps less crowded/expensive)?

This is a good time of year to see spring flower blossoms on the southern coast. Or thereabouts. Hadong has nearby Sangyesa temple set in the Jiri National park, with an hour long hike up to a waterfall. And the cherry blossoms, outdoor markets and jaechop river shellfish porridge are all worth experiencing in the spring.

I especially recommend a trip to the southeast coastal fishing town of Tongyeong, where ferries go to several nice islands in the area that don't become overcrowded for another two months.

A wonderful, refreshing day's hike on Somaemuldo Island accompanied by local seafood (haemul tang) has made my day before in springtime:

Have fun whatever.
