Anyone had this surgery done in Korea? I've heard it's a lot cheaper than the west and usually effective. Can someone give me some names, prices and tips regarding this? |

I had some pimples removed last year. I went to "Lotte Beauty Centre" (can't really remember the name of the joint!). This one was next to the Lotte Dept. Store in Jeongbalsan Stn.
I had a preliminary check-up during which I told what I wanted. The operation was a few days later and didn't take that long. The doc burned the offending pimples with a laser and that was it.
I seem to remember that the price for (incl. 1st meeting, removing 5-7 pimples and a follow-up) was around 130 000. I skipped the follow-up meeting as I did not see any need for that.
I think they asked something like 10 000 per pimple... sorry can't really remember. |

I got three moles removed last year. I did the laser removal. It costs 10,000 won per mole but they charge more for bigger (bigger than 1-2 mm?) and/or deeper ones. You should keep a bandage on it for 1 week. After the week, you will want to stay out of the sun as much as possible and/or put sunscreen on it. I got mine removed in October and there's no scarring and no reappearance... yet. It's definitely worth it. |

Funny, I had a couple of really small moles removed a few years ago in America. The doctor didn't use a laser. He numbed the area, then he cut them out with a pair of sharp scissors! I'm surprised the area didn't get infected, but then again, he knows what he's doing.
Afterwards, he or the nurse had a chart with various prices. I think that each mole was about $150.00 - $300.00 something high like that. I'm just glad that insurance covered it. At my next appointment, the nurse said that I should be warned if I wanted to get more removed. Insurance doesn't usually cover cosmetic stuff. Got lucky, I guess.
I'll just assume it's a lot cheaper in Korea. |

I had some moles removed in the USA and the doctor just cut off and around them with a safety razor! He numbed the areas a bit with a shot of something first, but the shot hurt about as much as getting the cut off.
Not sure what the bill was. I think insurance covered it. |

I had that treatment too, but then needed minor laser surgery as a touch up |

I"ve had feckles and sun spots removed with a laser here in Korea. Most places I've seen are 5,000 and up. Try Dream Skin www.dreamskin.co.kr Ask for Dr. Park Kyung Ho He speaks near perfect English. |

It really depends on the size of the mole. It is very difficult to quote a price without seeing the patient. At our hospital, we generally charge around 20, 000 won, but that does not include just one mole and the doctor usually clears the small ones for free.
Our dermatologist Dr. Shim, has made various appearances on TV and spent a considerable amount of time in the US. He speaks very good English and is a nice guy. The clinic itself is very modern, using only the newest equipment.

If you're in the Philippines, it's 20 bucks for any number of spots under 50. If you've got lots to remove, it's worth getting a flight... |
