I've seen a few jobs posted that are mornings only and pay into pension and severance, and a few after school problems that do the same. Does anyone know if it's possible to get two pensions and two severance checks in one year? I guess this of course depends on your being allowed to get a second job by your first employer, etc... but just in general terms.. is it possible?
I have searched a lot, but can't find this one. Seems like it would be a sweet deal. |

I don't know if you can or not but it seems to me that since they are two different things there are two different payout set-ups. Pension is an account tied to your name/ID #. It shouldn't matter how many jobs you have paying into the account, when you request the refund (provided you're from a country that lets you) you'll get just one check/payment. This is paid out when you file the claim/refund request, usually as you leave country and is one lump payment of everything that's in the account.
The severance pay is from the individual school/company. It's paid out upon completion of contract once a year, and as far as I understand every year even if you re-sign. If you are working for two companies on two different contracts, one visa with everything being legal/above board and a contract that states severance pay upon completion then you should be able to clear both severance payments.
This is just my theory take on the situation and it may be too logical for the Korean gov't to agree to, but it makes sense to me. Maybe you could run it by immmigration/tax office as a hypothetical and see what they say. |

This is what I was thinking as well. As you said, I don't know how logical it is. Also, if both jobs are legal they have to pay into pension by law... it sounds like it could be a lucrative deal. |

The immediate problem I could see with it is the government might try to lump it in with privates etc. If you do find out about if this will work or not post it up here. I work til 430 so I could concievably do a part time/couple of hours in the evening if it's possible. |
