i'm sure this has been addressed before, but didn't know how to narrow it down for the search. my approaching the end of my contract, it'll have been a 1.5 years of experience. they like me and want me to stay longer. my question is what would be a standard amount raise i could ask for considering i have more experience than i previously had, etc. etc. it's silly of me to not make some reasonable demands to better my situation right? |

however much you can negotiate...i'd obviously aim about 200k - 300k above what you want...so if you're at 2.1 i'd aim for about 2.6 or 2.7 and then settle for the 2.4 to 2.5 they'll end up giving you
if they are really tight on this, remember there is still housing...do you like where you live? maybe you can get them to pay for a bigger place in a better area/area you'd rather live in...
still won't budge? how about longer vacation? better o/t pay?
take a look at the contract on the whole...lots of places to get extra cash...with 1.5 yrs experience, depending on where you teach, i'd say you should be making minimum 2.5 a month... |

You have to watch out. One of the reasons as to why they like you so much maybe because of the fact that you ask for so little.
From what I 've seen I d say the standard is about 100 000 .I do know of people who have gotten more , I knew of people whom have gotten less and I knew of people who were asked to leave right after the negotiations went sour |

Standard is 100 000 more a month. Some places will only honor the raise if the contract is fully completed. ie, if you quit you have to pay back the raise. other places don't do that.
i was able to go up 300 000 a few years ago. It is all how you present yourself. If you make them believe you are an asset, they will may premium for it. |
