That's entirely the point I was making. I'm not sure why it escaped you the first time around. Not really the sharpest god boy running around Korea, huh?

forget easter & get back to basics. if you want to worship something then start worshiping the sun (the planet) instead of man made wannabes (eg jesus).

how many people do you know claim vanilla ice is the true inventor of rap music. how seriously would you take them?

christianity is a poor imitation and just plain lame.

Rolling Eyes

I never argued that it didn't borrow from pagan traditions. I said that any person with 2 brain cells to rub together could figure out that it wasn't stolen from paganism. And that most pagans and christians lack those brain cells. And it didn't escape me... let's look what I said in my first response to you.

I'm not denying Easter has been influenced by pagan customs, but it's not a pagan holiday.

I didn't mention bunnies and eggs in my first post, because they're extraneous. It doesn't matter if Easter has bunnies and eggs now. What matters is if the Christian tradition of Passover or Easter started with bunnies and eggs, and it didn't.

What I'm wondering is why my first post got your panties in such a twist.

Easter is, in fact, a pagan celebration. And anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together can figure that out.

PS Adherence to any form of organised religion is a form of mental illness.

What religion has ever sprung up fully formed out of the ether? (I know religions like to think they did, but they didn't.) Of course Christianity incorporated the traditions and celebrations of older religions. Even the central god-man, death-then-rebirth thing wasn't exactly new, y'know.

Not much of a hint... do you know the origin of the word "propaganda" as applied to a mass effort to sway public opinion? It comes from Pope Gregory XV's establishment of the Sacra Congregatio de Propaganda Fide, or "Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples". That's right, the Catholic church is the originator of the tactic of pro-PAGAN-da.
