I'm the only foreigner at my school, too. I quite like the experience, though it's not for everyone.
I'd be up for a little Meet-and-Greet sometime as well, but not this coming weekend.
Is anybody able to get something going on a week night, or are those generally a No-Go? |

There's also the Socrates Cafe group. They meet in the Seomyeong starbucks on Sundays at 11. I haven't gone yet, but I bet that would be a good spot if you were going to walk in on your own.
Last week I looked up O'Brian's at Gaya station. I was by myself, so I was prepared to just have a beer and bow out, but it turned out to be super friendly and relaxed. If you're going solo I recommend showing up on Friday (early-ish, before everyone's plastered) instead of Saturday when they have a cover band slated every week.
The cover band isn't bad, but its not helpful if you're dying to have an impromtu conversation about something other than phrasal verbs.
I wouldn't mind meeting up with a group from this forum, but I don't know how to set it up. Someone here might have to be brave and set a plan even though no-one might show...
Or maybe not... I have a secondary email address: [email protected] (underscore before the @). If anyone from this forum wants to show up at the Vinyl Underground for quiz night on Sunday, just email me. You normally need a team for quiz night, if we don't get at least 3 people by Saturday the 29th in the afternoon then I'll call it off.
Sound good? |
