|
|
So basically the title is pretty much self explanatory, I have now gathered all the documents required for my VISA application:-
- Sealed and Signed Transcript of Results (1 copy of)
- CRB Check Apostilled (also have few photocopies)
- Degree scroll (also have a few photocopies)
- Photo's (4 of them)
- Photocopy of Passport
- Self Medical Checklist
- Signed Contract
- Copy of upto date CV
These are all the correct ones needed am I right?
But onto the real crux of my query... I am currently looking into couriers to send these items to South Korea to my recruiters.
I have two questions regarding this:-
1) What is the best value and service courier to use? I am in London UK.
2) Should I send my documents to the recruiter (kims korea) or should I ask for the schools address so I can send them straight to the director there who can send the items for me?
any help is appreciated

I can't really help you with the best courier option for you as I am not from the UK. But this time round I have used the EMS courier which is linked to the postoffice here in Australia. Here it is called Express Courier International but EMS International Courier is the global name. I used its Koren equivalent last year to send some things back from Korea to Australia and that was sent from the Korean Post Office so I think it is probably globally related to the Post Offices. I used them this time for 2 reasons - my very good experience in using them from Korea at the end of last year (I posted some boxes on 2 consecutive Saturday mornings and they were delivered to my fathers home an hour north of Sydney first thing on Monday morning on both occassions) - and the fact that it is cheaper than using Fedex or its equivalents - but the fact that like the other couriers you can track where it is at any time - I would suggest talking to the Post Office in the UK (or checking out their website first) and seeing if it is a good deal for you ...
But I would send the visa documents to the recruiter (assuming that is what you have been asked to do) because the recruiter is often involved in helping the school in the process of applying for the visa and making sure everything is correctly in place before the application is made. Sending the documents to the recruiter is a fairly standard part of the process. I did it last year when I applied for my first Korean job and am in the middle of the process again at the moment in applying for my second job (from Australia).

I would still ask for the schools address ... Not to send the documents to ... But to know where it is actually located ... Sometimes the way the location is described in advertising etc is not always totally accurate ... In my case finding out the actual dong in which the school was located told me the most about where it was located ... In Seoul or rather in Korea in general knowing street names is not the way that you know where places are located ... because most streets do not have names ... But buildings have numbers ... So the closest that you can get without being there is from the dong part of the address. |
