Has anyone been asked AFTER they signed a contract with ONE school to then also teach at another school? or DOES anyone currently do this?
If so, what are the conditions? Do you get paid more and if so how much?

| Your contract should state exactly where you will be teaching, with the name of the school(s). If you do teach at more than one school then you should only receive more money if you are teaching more than 22 class hours per week. You should also be reimbursed for travel expenses if you have to take a bus or taxi to the other school(s). |

I'm already here, they asked me to do it. They have to send me to immigration to add that school and all that stuff.
I was told I would only be getting extra payment if the hours I work there exceeds 22 hours and it will only be 20,000 (so basically, same as if I had stayed with my school)...
The more I think about it, the more I think its BS.
Travel expenses are not important as it is close to my current school.
ANyone doing this now? |

Yes before I arrived I signed a contract with one school.
Upoin arrival I was informed that I would teach 2 schools.
It's 100,000w more per month for 2 schools.
In the standard EPIK contract:
Article 13 (Section 4)
"Employees working for more than one school are eligible for a multiple
school teaching allowance of 100,000 Korean Won (KRW) for two schools
or 150,000 Korean Won (KRW) for three schools per month."
By the way they will claim the "teaching allowance" as "travel allowance"
claiming the translation is bad (See article 22).
My school were right next to each other so it was like an instant raise.
Some of my friends have extra travel expense to their second school. |

It is very common farther out into the country and at smaller rural schools especially when the class loads are less than 16 per week at any one school.
Chances are that you will be able to get between 26-28 classes per week between the 2 schools ( the extra supplemental pay (~100k per week) is nice) and you still get home by 5.
It is not that much extra work because you just export the same lesson to both schools.

Yes that's what happened with me. They asked my coteacher 3 times, but my ct thought I was really against it so he was afraid to ask me about the time. When he finally did, I agreed. My workload is still 22 (from both schools). I'm only at the 2nd school once a week. I like it.
I get an extra transportation allowance even though I ride the school bus with the kids. It's refreshing really. I have no problem with it and glad I did. If I didn't, they would have to creat extra classes at my main school jus to fill the 22 hour a week load. |

You realize that you don't have to work the full 22 hours, if they don't have 22 classes for you then you just teach what they do have. |

and you do realize your contract states up to 22. Most schools don't care, but mine wants me to work the full 22. If i didn't agree to work at the 2nd school, they would have created extra specialized classes to fill the 22. |

I teach at two schools under the 2007 EPIK contract and get nothing extra  ... but, if I re-sign for September, I can look forward to W100,000/month 'raise'. |

I teach at four public schools in a rural area and also get paid an extra 200,000 for it. I have no problems with it. Nonetheless, I think next year i would like to teach at one or two schools. |

I guess it depends on the school. I know the contract says that, but it is UP to 22. Some schools won't create more classes. |

SERIOUSLY 5?? Would 200,000 even cover the transportation fees?? I get transportation allowance for working at the 2nd school even though I ride the school bus that picks me up at my apt each morning! I dont think I can agree to 5...or 4. Too much traveling... |

Your supposed to get 100,000 for the rural
(Anyplace other than the 6 big cities)
and 100,000 for 2 schools or 150,000 for 3 schools,
according to the EPIK contract at the EPIK website. |
