Is it possible to exchange books that i've finished for other used books at What The Book. Would they accept for example 3 of my books for one of theirs?
Cheers

They take used books and then give you credit towards other used books. You might be able to used the credit on new books, but I know you can't used it on magazines.

It felt like every time I went there they had a sign saying something about not accepting hardcovers. Or not accepting something else. My memory is vague.

What the Book is a true gem. Hilarious choice of name, too.

They don't accept hardcovers if they don't have that paper that wraps around the cover.

Nope, can't use the credit for new books either. And, all told, it takes about three of my soft covers to buy one of their books.

I believe the trade-in value is 1/2 of whatever they will sell it for. Most mass market paperbacks are probably around 2,500 won for trade-in (sell for 5,000) and the value goes up for non-fiction and bigger books.

You can take 1/2 of the trade-in value in cash if you like, but that's almost not worth it.

I think its not bad. I have gone past the days of lugging loads of books around and have hundreds stockpile up. In England even charity shops don't want them anymore and the chance of you reading them again is slim so the few thousand what the book offer is pretty good. Does anyone know if they book store at Noksapyeong station offer a better rate. They have some good stuff in the and the books are usually a couple of thousand cheaper.

That store by the entrance of Itaewon is pathetic. They charge 3,000 won for an old foreign magazine and trying to find anything requires time because the place is so disorganized.
