Ok so after obtaining one of these beloved cards has anyone figured out where or how we can get an id number that will allow us access to things?
Has anyone else had the frustrating problems of trying to do things on your own, but still being told you can't because your a foreigner?
The poor lady at Hana Bank started bawling as she finally just said go to KB they are more foreigner friendly..
I remembe reading somewhere on here that you could register your number, but that was several years ago and they didnt say where you could do it.. |

I'm the past, we received proper id #'s as the locals. Immigration changed the numbers to represent sex (men start with a 1 & women start with a 2)
Non-koreans start with a 5
As far as the F-2, F-5 goes, your ID number will remain the same (as mine did when I went from E-2, F-2-1, F-5.

Which sucks...but then the real issue here is privacy. Do you give your social insurance number/social services number every time you want to do something back home? |

Yeah, unfortunately, but little by little it's starting to change. No realistic option in banks, schools, insurance agencies, etc. |

Foreign women start with a 6. Korean kids now start with 3 for boys and 4 for girls. They are going to have to do an overhaul some day soon. |

It would just be nice to actually do something in this society without having to depend on a korean. Well their ID card I should say. |
