| What are ladies sporting on the streets of Seoul? A few years ago it was all feminine floral dresses and heels. |

| Most are sporting an effeminate boyfriend in a pink shirt with a '80s shag haircut. |

Hmm, aside from the frilly stuff that Koreans seem to like so much I've seen two main outfits.
One is a kind of simplistic but classy, uses a lot of grays especially for pants and jackets, and dresses. White long sleeved shirts/sweaters and relatively dark jeans seem to be a staple of this look. Usually worn with small gold cross or similar necklace and smallish dangly earrings or thin hoop earrings.
The other one's main feature is a long sweater, usually with wide horizontal stripes, that are most commonly gray and navy or gray and black. This is often worn with the short denim skirts and usually topped off with a newsie hat (don't know the official name for them) and big brown tinted sunglasses.
*edit*
And it's usually dark heels for style 1 and heeled boots for style 2.
Personally I like the first one a lot and think the second one is kind of stupid. It makes the girl look like a lumpy sock. |

It's funny because it's true. |

when i was in japan i noticed a lot of light-coloured or immaculately white peacoats. extremely sexy to me for some reason, especially when they wear short shorts underneath and it looks like they have no pants on at all.
god, i hate korean fashion. it's almost an oxymoron. |

they always wear nice coats.
i love korean fashion, im so happy to be here! i come from Montreal, which is pretty stylish, but most people back home are sporting the "hipster" look, which i'm not crazy about.
but in seoul girls dress up nicely, they're very well put-together so it's perfect for me, i'm liking it. |

It's easy to make fun of all the fashion-clone-lemmings we see in Korea.
But then you visit home and you end up missing seeing all those high heels, tights, and stupid accessories. It's dumb but it's kind of sexy in a way. At least in Korea, women don't mind looking like women. (actually the guys don't mind looking like women either for that matter)
But those frumpy shorts with tights in winter were just silly. And the 70's to 80's (take your pick) over-the-top retro fashion is a bit much.
As for the guys, if I see another sport coat, jeans, and white converse ensemble I'm gonna puke. (it's not so bad in itself, but it's funny that one day you just see EVERY guy dressed like that, while his girl is straight out of Sixteen Candles 1985 Teen magazine... disgusting) |

This is the "lumpy sock" look I was talking about. Had a feeling I wasn't the only one who didn't care for it. |

White trousers, pink cardigans, teased/permed/coloured hair and ballerina flats.
And that's just for the blokes. |
