What is the best item to use against the yellow dust? Something from the pharmacy?

I know the best would be a gas mask, like spray painters use, but I dont want to walk around with one of those. My throat is killing me, and I'm pretty tired.....

mmmm... I'd guess that those "cold" masks that they wear would work.

I'd suggest drinking lots of water, and maybe getting an air purifier for your house?

I drink close to 3L of water a day....those masks they wear seem not fine enough to catch small particles.

This yellow dust/allergies really makes my whole body tired....

Ask for a YELLOW DUST mask. It's made to catch the fine particles.

(BTW, I am also really sensitive to yellow dust. It's hell.)

I believe "Hwangsa" is the Korean for "Yellow sand."

I like using Dragon Powder (Yong Gak San) every once in a while. It's good for clearing your throat. A HEPA filter is another good idea.

I bought a mask, it works pretty good for walking around.

Hepa filter might be good for the apt as well, but they are like a sponge, and can't actually be counter productive unless you change the filter regularly.

Where do I get that Dragon stuff, and what is it?

I'm also looking for a good quality face mask with some kind of protective filter though I can't seem to find one. The pharmacies here usually just flog the standard paper or cloth ones, which are relatively useless against yellow dust IMO. Anyone got a heads up?

Alta posted it in hangul take those characters into a pharmacy and they will show you the proper masks. Only problem is if you wear glasses they fog up.

According to the American military website (http://www.seoul.amedd.army.mil/sites/yellowsand/default.asp), the yellow dust has been negligible this week, aside from a blip on the 24th.

Are you still feeling the effects or is it psychosomatic?

It could be yellow dust, or it could be just straight up allergies from everything starting to bloom. Either way I feel like shit....Maybe it is a cold too, who knows.

When I am just sitting here I feel so run down, after wearing the mask for about 10mins, I feel more alert....it's not pyschopsymatic either

Dragon Powder Yong gak san is available in most pharmacies. It's a powder. I put a little on my tongue and swallow (don't drink anything for a 1/2 hour or so) and it helps to get rid of some phlegm. I use it and find it helpful. Only every once in a whille.
