There's this little footnote on the hikorea list of required documents that says "Exceptions are made if the nature of the crime is light and does not affect their ability as a teacher." I couldn't copy and paste because the page won't let me. I'm wondering if anyone has witnessed one of these exceptions now that the new rules are in place. I have something on my record from over ten years ago that would fit in this category, so I'm curious if anyone has been let in having one of these on their record. Like a misdemeanor theft of less than $20, or something along those lines?

Very interesting... as many predicted, and as vague as the statement is, it seems the new regs. are slowly being relaxed.

If one has a conviction for a minor offence (what ever that is) and the visa officer is having a good day and likes you, you may have a chance of getting an E-2.

I think Immigration is being pretty stringent on criminal checks. My administrative assistant went to immigration yesterday and they have not issued a visa to anyone with a DUI to this point. A DUI doesn't mean that you are going to be a bad teacher, but it does show a bad decision, as might your theft under $20. I am not judging you, but immigration might.

Actually, there is a way around that situation.

What you do is hit the "Print Scrn" button. This will place a picture of what you're looking at in a memory buffer.

Then open up a new Word document and do a paste function.

This will make a copy into the word document of what your screen looked like when you hit the "Print Scrn" button. Obviously, what you have here is a graphic not text.

Thanks for adding nothing to this thread, except the same grammatical error that a 12 year old makes.
