So, I have been making salsa, but it is just lacking that salsa taste.

I need cilantro!

Do any of you know where to get it? Do they sell it here? It was rampant in China, so I am thinking it's also here.
How do you say it?

Thanks.

Not the easiest to get.
Some Emarts stock it but it is quite expensive.
It can also be found in Shinsegae and small Chinese shops. Im sure SE Asian shops will have it as well

If you live in Seoul you can get it at the foreign food store in Itaewon or in the supermarket under Gecko's.

How about seeds? I'd love to plant a kimchi pot full of cilantro.

Are you looking to get deported? That's almost as bad as saying "I don't like kimchi."

"Are you looking to get deported?"

Sometimes it doesn't seem like such a bad idea....

I've seen it in the outdoor markets and once (only once) in Homeplus. You'll have to hunt it out.

In Korean it's 고수.

I know that at almost all Vietnamese pho noodle restaurants, if you specifically ask for cilantro(고수 or go-soo) they will give it to you. You might try asking them at these Viet pho restaurants where they get it.

I know, hilarious. It's like having to ask for basil for your caprese salad, or vinegar for your fish and chips.

My mom sent me cilantro, lavender, basil, and mint seeds last year. Shocked

They grew all over my porch and I made guacamole every Friday for taco night.

An easier way is to buy fresh cilantro at Hannam Market. Take the #1 bus to Hannam Vocational School, make a right off of the bus and pass the vegetarian restaurant, walk to the bowling pin and go underground.

Well, I wrote down go-soo, so I will take it round the market and see what the old women there have. On market day, there are a dozen or so streets lined with the grannies and their blanket full of gear. Usually there are some interesting tidbits to be had.

Coriander or dhania are other names used.

If your just looking for the flavor add a little soap to your recipe.
