I'm in the Seohyeon area and was wondering if anyone new a faster way to Suwon than the god-awful 720-2. This way meanders through every -gu in the 'dang and even through (shudder) Suji. If anybody knows a route that doesn't take 1.5+ hours, I'd greatly appreciate it. Looking at a map, they don't look too far apart, but then when has that ever made much difference here?

Thanks in advance!

I used to have the same problem. No direct route that I know of aside from getting your own wheels

Take the bus that goes to kyeonggi university or Yeongtong, and from there take a bus to suwon -- some 5xxx or 1xxx I dont remember the bus number exactly.
You can check for the exact numbers in the sohyeyon station bus stop.
One of those long distance red/orange coloured buses.
This is faster compared to 720-1 or 720-2 or 720-3.

across the street from Dunkin D's (bus heads away from samsung plaza). Its a red/orange bus 7200? or something like that. It comes every 40 minutes, but takes maybe 25 minutes to get to yong tong.

I live in Migeum and take the Suwon buses every Friday to see my boyfriend.

You can catch the 7 and 7-2 buses at the bus stop near the Subway sandwiches restaurant.

They take about an hour; they do go through "every -gu and every -dong" in Suji, but it would seem to be a little faster for you....

The 5500-1 will take you to the YongTong area in about a 1/2 hour. Get off when you're across the street from the big takes of KyungHee University.

116-3 will also go right to Kyunghee in Yeongtong if you're too cheap to ride the luxury 5500-1.

I've taken this route a few times, though it's kind of hit or miss. Get a transportation card so you can transfer from subway to bus without having to pay full price each time. Take the subway to Ori or Jukjeon. Get on bus #60, but make sure that it goes to Suwon and not Gwangju. That bus will cut through Suji and some of the other dongs that the 720-2 and 720-1 pass through. Via subway and bus it usually takes me an hour from Seohyun, while the 720-2 takes about 20-30 minutes more.

7007-1! I'd forgotten before, but I'm pretty sure that's the other one that goes along almost the same route as the 5500-1.

Catch the subway to Moran station.

Catch the 2007-1 bus (exit 4 if I remember correctly) to Suwon station.

(The bus is express to north Suwon/Haniltown-homeplus).

Subway is ~10 minutes (Seohyun to Moran).
Bus is 30-40 minutes from Moran station to Suwon station (depending on traffic from Haniltown to Jangan-mun to Suwon station).
