With Koreans' love of sweet Bakery products, why hasn't anyone opened a Cinnabon here?

I think it would make a killing.

It would be nice, but so long as Cold Stone Creamery is in Korea I'm happy. I do still miss Ben & Jerry's though...

Cinnabon is buy one of many"western" chains / businesses that were once in Korea but have since pulled out. A few others that come to mind:

- Cinnabon
- Wendy's
- Carrefour
- Wal-Mart
- Chilli's
- Nokia* (There may be a few phones floating around out there, but they've had a really tough time getting any serious market share. They may take another run at it this year... again...)

Any others I've missed?

New Zealand Natural Icecream Company. They've opened and closed big flashy shops a few times but have never had the staying power. Now you can still find it but only as little refrigerators full of the stuff in movie theatres etc.

No great loss, I'm a kiwi but the New Zealand Natural Icecream was not really that great anyway.

Tim Horton's has never been in Korea, and unless I blinked and missed them, neither has Denny's (popular in Japan, though).

Szbarro's is still going. Some have closed down, but they've still got a few outlets. Food courts now, mainly.

Others that have tried and failed:

Ponderosa
Winners
Dairy Queen
Hardee's (pissed me off cause when they went under they were the only thing around with a breakfast menu)
Taco Bell

Mister Donut, Quiznos, and Papa John's are trying to gain a market hold, but we'll still have to wait a bit to see if they can do it.
