I am interested to know what the average wage here is in Korea. I am not talking about the ESL wage, but the national average wage. I am having trouble finding any recent figures.

Anyone got any links...detail?

ive seen things suggesting that the average wage here is around the same or even a little higher than it is in the US. anecdotally, though, that doesnt seem even close to believable to me.

GDP/capita says it's around $20,000
Don't know how else you could find out the real average wage of a Korean.
But the GDP/capita usually works a good estimate only.

A lot of it is relative and based on location.

Senior managers at big companies do okay.

But if you factor people outside of Seoul working in tiny shops, the salaries are very low.

The average Korean worker (not just counting the ones at big companies who tend to be the only ones who get reported) are probably making 1.5 to 2 if they're really senior.

My sister in law makes about 800,000 per month.

Min wage I think is around 3,000 won per hour.

People in shops are probably making around 1,000,000.

And thanks everyone else...I thought the average must be around 2 mil...alot of Koreans of my age are earning just less than me.
