Ugh...same old, ad nauseum. Vista rocks, even un-service-packed.

For you and many others maybe.......

Vista isn't catching on like XP did, Vista is causing major problem with people wanting to copy and move files to different systems, which is why most businesses aren't moving to Vista yet.

VISTA maybe the new light but it isn't that good yet, $$microsoft just expanded the shelf life of XP by a year if not more because consumers are so unhappy with VISTA.........

I'll stay with Xp and let others iron out the the problem for the next year or maybe two.......As I said previously Cool

People with VISTA thank you for de-bugging the OS for me!!! But TBH I think VISTA is another windows millennium Shocked

I hope I'm wrong Embarassed Crying or Very sad

How could you be wrong? You certainly have the populist opinion nailed.

I have to agree with cheeseface. However, I do understand where you are coming from Demophobe. I remember all the problems an issues that arose when XP first came out. There were driver and compatibility issues...some games didn't work, etc, etc. But it has matured and become very stable and easy to use.

I guess if Vista survives the driver issues and compatibility problems will be resolved. However, there was a fundamental change with Vista. That was the implementation of all the security measures. Consequently, users like me, who like manipulating system files and changing the ways windows behaves will never fully accept it unless there are some usable hacks in the future.

IMO Vista was designed to handhold the novice user who can't control infection by spyware, viruses, and malware onto their systems. It was designed exclusively to address the many, many, many complaints about viruses and spyware on Windows PCs. This was admirable, but doesn't suit my needs of having a customizable Windows environment.

What is it about Vista that makes the few happy Vista-adopters so adamant about it?

Could you, guys and gals who frequent this forum, stop this childish fighting which OS is the best and which OS "sucks donkey wad", like another poster so imaginatively expressed. Who the fcuk cares? It is an operating system. A tool. Your fighting isn't any more fruitful, productive or helpful than topics about:

- whose dad is the strongest
- whose God is the real god
- there is a god/there is no god
- the most beautiful women/men/inflatable sex dolls come from _____
- if Superman and [insert your favorite hero here] fought, who would win?
- etc.
