Does anyone know of a reasonably priced hotel/motel resort or whatever to stay at for a couple just for a weekend? And is it okay if I arrive at like 3 or 4 am? If you have a website or anything that would be great. Thanks a lot. |

There is nothing decent, on the beach, in CEBU that is cheap.
ALL the cebu beach resorts are on the east side of Mactan Island. Some are 5* places (like Shangrila and the Hilton 150-200k won per night). Many are 5* pricing and 3* service and accommodation (like Cebu Beach Club and the Tambuli resorts (- 110-140k won per night + meals and extras).
The only CHEAP one is the Hadsan resort (30k-50k won per night). It makes no apology about being rustic but it shows in the price.
( IF you had more time (and I know you don't) you could go farther up Cebu Island, up to Malapascua or over to Bohol. In both cases you get quality and affordability. )
They have no problem with late check-ins and most of them usually have a bus picking up a bunch of K-tourists off the same flight.
IF you are only spending 2 nights, try something like Plantation Bay or the Shangri-la resort. They are expensive but you will be happy with your quality beach time.
IF this is strictly based on budget, and rustic is not a problem, go with the Hadsan resort. http://www.cebu-hotels.com/mactan-resort/ . They don't pick you up but an airport taxi shouldn't cost more than p400-500 from the airport at 2-4am. (it should be about p120 during the day in a metered taxi.) Hadsan Telephone (from Korea 002-63-32-340-5937)

In addition to the above post, if a hotel in town is acceptable, there are lots to choose from.
Cheap, close with free airport pickup, 24/7 restaurant, rooftop pool would the the hotel Cesario. http://www.hotelcesario.com/
The rates went up at Christmas and the website is not updated. I think the basic room is p1600 (double occupancy).
It's NOT on the beach but is within walking distance of the Marina mall, Gaisano Mactan mall and about p100 for a taxi to SM or Ayalla malls. It is about 5 minutes from the airport. |

I found a package deal for me and my fiance for 1400 including flight and hilton hotel. That's including tax. Expensive, but we decided on a real vacation! So I'll let you guys know how it was when I get back on Sunday. =D
Do you know how the shopping is around that area and how much it would cost to take a cab to the shopping area. |

Catch a cab to SM mall or Ayalla mall.
The meter rate from the Hilton should be about p200-250 (meter rate) to either of them (depending on traffic).
A flat rate of up top 300 is tolerable and more likely from out that way.
Any more than that and the driver is a thief.
When you get in the taxi, refuse a flat rate and INSIST on him running the meter.

Will keep that in mind.
By the way, have you stayed at the Hilton there? I was reading some reviews and they were saying the hotel is good except for the beach, which is full of coral and difficult to swim in. What's your opnion on this? |

Same as every other beach on Mactan (Cebu city). The beach there is OK but is nothing special.
For anything nicer in the Phils or Thailand you will need at least a 4 day package just to get there and back.
If you want white powder sand beaches you will need to get farther afield and YOU SAID, "you didn't have the time." Alona beach on Panglao (Bohol), Boracay, Malapascua, and Bantayan island are some of the many better choices for powder beaches.
Within the time frame you indicated in your earlier posts (weekend get-a-way) it is about the best you will get.
Don't let that get you down. It is still a nice place and a nice get-a-way.
Enjoy the time in the sun with your lady, have a nice, romantic weekend under the stars on the beach and under the swaying palms and don't sweat the little stuff.
You can get some Cheap shell necklaces and other cool stuff at the street vender stalls across from the street from the Lapu-lapu shrine (located about 1/2 way between the Hilton and the airport road/bridge to cebu city.
