man, i kinda miss those convenience stores in Daejeon (mannyeondong), where the expats would be sitting outside, chillin and drinking whatever it may be...

I've done the outside convenience store thang in yatap before....(opposite side from Lotteria by subway.) Walk away from subway,go left....follow the street, it bends right....and you'll see a Live bar with posters of the Doors and other oldies......it's downstairs (not bad)..
..if you pass it and carry on to the street you'll see that it's a fairly happenin' restaurant/bar street with ops to chill outside the 7-11 and/or Family Mart.
If you turn right on that street (7-11 is to the left and across the street) you will see another live bar on the right down a bit, set a little off the street but with a very visible huge guitar for a sign......had some good times in there with the locals.... Nice stage...you can sign with anyone that happens to play (some nights they have a guitar player on staff.
have fun |

Then maybe expat bars aren't what you're looking for.
Me, I just grab a beer and walk. |

Both times I've been to the Mexican restaurant in Seohyun there were other foreigners there. Might give that a try. The beef burrito is pretty good, but I'd pass on the nachos (unless you like pork & beans with your chips). Their margueritas are dandy. |

Yes, I've eaten at the Mexican restaurant there. The food was okay. Yeah, I did see a few foreigners there having dinner and drinks.

Tho, if you want groups of expats to join outside the convenience stores.....your odds are much better in Seo Hyun after May kicks in Fri./Sat. nights of course.
I've seen them many times (last two years).....near KFC Seo Hyun (same side as Dublin)
In Sunae (near Lotte Dept. store-Seo Hyun side) Family Mart opposite Paris Baguette...w/TV.
In Sunae (Past Lotte -Jeong Ja side) Family Mart around the corner at the end of the drag...to the left.
In JeongJa (Family Mart) outside New York Hot Dog and under Sala Thai rest.....right past Pavillion Apts.....

Some friends and I used to go to The Woodstock Bar in Yatap. If it's still there. It wasn't doing much business when we went there. The owner was into live guitar music. He played very well himself. Sometimes he would organize jam sessions with other musicians. Koreans and foreigners. Nice place with nice atmosphere. But the beer sucked. It's Korea afterall......something has to be wrong. |
