A group of us who went through the same recruiter ended up getting here 2 weeks late. We were ready to go before the original orientation but our recruiters couldn't get us our VISA paperwork in time. Now they want us to go to Seoul (we're in Pusan) on the weekend for a make-up orientation. Travel expenses and hotels are covered (I'm hoping) but our weekends are precious. Does this sound legit? The funny part is that they're going to pay for us and our co-teachers to come up to Seoul and stay for 2 nights. Wouldn't it be cheaper for them to send a rep down here for the weekend????? Thoughts? Comments?

Hey it's a free trip! Enjoy it! It's only one weekend.

It'll stipulate in your contract that you must attend an orientation. This is it. I came mid-term and haven't been on an orientation yet and doubt 'll asked to go on one either. Very Happy

yes, but it also says you don't work saturdays and sundays. i personally would tell them no (unless i really wanted to meet some people, that's about all these orientations are good for)

Fire Extinguishers can be a lot of fun.

Just don't pass out in the shrubbery or hallways.

Puking your guts out in the lobby is not a good idea either.
