Does anyone remember this concert or where the ex-Pavement frontman played? Also I have heard tell of a Pavement covers band in Seoul. Can anyone shine a light for me please?
Also are there any good Korean alternative rock bands out there? Or is it all pap? |

Gonna try to get one going in '04.
Know of a bassist, drummer or vocalist into doing real stuff?
Not really PAVEMENT-style, though AT&T is a great song.
Cheers,

I'm a bassist and would gladly help out. Would have an outlet for live performance too as I'm half-involved in a local open mic for bands here in Anyang.
Where you based? And what style of music, to say what that Swiss James guy just did?
swiss james - yr on the anyang boards aren't you? |

Yeah I've been on the Anyang boards, there was some real talent onstage when I went to that open-mic night. You folks have got a good thing going up there. |

I'll be in Ulsan.
Style... No bs three-chord r'n'r. No banter, no solos - straight, driving rock. Lots of covers. Not out to break the mold but to polish the one that's been set.
Influences:
Ramones
NY Dolls
Guitar Wolf
Johnny Thunders
Link Wray
Cheap Trick
MC5
Dictators
Buzzcocks
Fat Elvis
Mission: play, have fun, and keep the torch lit.
PM if you're interested or know of others who would be.
I'd travel up on weekends if I had to.
Cheers,
Joe

Why thank you. It's a really good atmosphere there usually. That's the plug! Very busy there these days though and not without its minor dramas but it seems to be working out great guns. |

LOL.
Pusan is near there and I can hydrofoil to Kitakyushu and bus up to Fukuoka.
Seoul's l& in my book. Was there a while back. Don't like the locals and the expat scene up there is not my bag, though it does have Club Drug.

Thanks. I'm no fan of 'alternative' and I'm not in Korea long enough to invest in a band with some notion of a "future."
Also, a lot of the new stuff bores me.
I'll figure something out.
Cheers,
