question - does anyone know, when resigning with a public school do you still get your first year of pension and severance pay at the end of the contract? and how do you go about ensuring these things are done on time and correctly?

You can only get your pension when you leave the country. You need to show the pension office a one way ticket.

Severence should be paid in the last paycheck. Mine was. I had to remind them but they paid it like a week after my contract was done.

People in SMOE have received their pension when they took a different job. They did go on vacation, but not on a one way ticket.

I thought you can get your pension when your visa expires. So if you renew a contract, you extend the visa and don't get pension, but if you change jobs, you can get your pension.
