I've had great service here too, but the national insurance (what most teachers get) only covers around 70% (depending on the condtion). That can be expensive for any kind of surgery or procedure. |

Yeah, but overall it seems that Korea has struck a fairly good balance. |

No you don't... Windsor's cancer centre has some of the best specialists in the country now (probably because Windsor's environment causes so many cancers) |
Hrm. Now why would I know three different people in Windsor who had to go see a specialist in London? Not to mention all the other people who always have to go see specialists in London? Hrm. Explain it to me. |

I had an emergency situation in Calgary:
1) Ambulance came, no question, but quick with nothing but prof. all the way.
2) Go back to edmonton and got into my GP the next day. He referred me to an endocrinologist whom I saw two days later.
Had constant contact with him since with no problems.
I have had to wait in an emergency room for 2 hrs and had a VERY VERY unhelpful nurse.
I came in complaining of extreme muscle weakness (ie... I had paralysis). She wheeled me beside the bed and then said "I'm sick. Well, I can't help you in so you'll just have to sit there".
No effort. And a sick nurse?
So I sat there...kinda pissed. That sucked.
In terms of emergency rooms, they can be REALLY hit or miss. It's a bad idea to go to one that is right on the "Edge" of a big city cause that's where all the small towners come in. But in the big city, somedays there is a 20minute wait, sometimes, 7 hours for a broken arm. |

in BC, healthcare is crap. According to CTV, people have died while on the waitlist. And according to them or another news source, 31 premature babies have been born in washington cause healthcare sucks. BC's facing a bed shortage, and privatization is illegal.
According to wiki, you have to pay 15% income tax if you make about 10, 000 to 37, 000. On top of that, you've got provincial income tax which is about 5% here in BC. If America get healthcare, get the frak out, cause taxes will through the roof
I had surgery done about 24 years ago, and i don't think i waited too long that time. But that was then, and this is now.
