When I flew with my son it was under 24 months pays 10%, and over that pays full fare. Maybe there is a toddler discount available, though.

Yup, toddlers are 70 or 75%. I can't remember.

Just bought a ticket with Air Canada and I think this was the case.

some airlines make you pay 70-80 percent of a full ticket once the baby reaches 18 months. check with the individual airline and be sure, since you can save a lot of money by timing it right...you wouldn't want to put a trip off for a few months and then find out afterwards about the ticket prices...

Airlines that follow IATA guidelines charge 10% for children under 24 months (but they do NOT get a seat assignment) on international flights.

Most carriers do NOT charge infants for domestic flights. Again, they do not get a seat assigned. We have traveled lots with our baby and have never yet paid for a domestic flight anywhere (including North America and most of SE Asia).

Many airlines also give out baby packs for infants (diaper, toy and baby food). They also have a sky-cot for infants under 11kg and less than 55cm tall. Be sure to ask when you book your ticket or call them at least 24 hours ahead of time to get these.

Children 2-12 years old pay 75% of the fare and get a seat and meal assignment. Special children's meals are available for them (again, ask when you book or call more than 24 hours before the flight).

Infants are also granted a 10kg baggage allowance AND the baby bag as a carry-on AND gate-side check-in for a baby stroller or car/carry seat.

Children paying the 75% fare are granted full baggage allowance (same as adults) AND can accumulate frequent flier miles (75% rate).

IF you want to use a car seat in the aircraft you can get a seat for your infant (under 2) by paying the 75% fare.
