Well, from experience, Full HD does not look that great on a TV. The resolution may match, but it doesn't look great. Sure, you can use it for presentations and stuff, but for everyday computing it's awful. The regular computer monitor is capable of producing a far greater color spectrum than the Full HD TVs that are sold today. That will change one day, but for now, you're only getting like 8 bit color out of a Full HD TV. Your home computer monitor has something like 16 bit color, if memory serves.
Last year I had an LG 1920x1080 Full HDTV, and the quality of the text was a disappointment. It kills your eyes looking at it for any length of time, too.
How big of a TV are you looking at, and what do you plan to use it for? If you just want to occasionally view some web stuff or videos, it will be just fine. |

I'm thinking of a LCD computer monitor 27" - 32" with full HD compatibilities. |

It's tough to find a happy marriage between the two, but Samsung had some nice models shaped like TVs sort of (rounded corners and stuff). Even still, they weren't as perfect as a monitor with a single purpose -- pretty darned close, though. |
