|
|
I have a rather old computer but it does about everything I want/need, except that at times (or often) I find it rather slow. I thought about adding more RAM. What I have is an AMD Athlon XP 2400+ 1 core CPU (pentium 3) 2.00Ghz with 256Mb RAM.
If I show the following page from the manual (see link below) to someone at a computer store, can I be sure to get what I need or is there more to know?

| PC2700 is basically all you need to know. And it looks like that page has any information you could want with regard to compatibility. |

Make sure it's the right type. It may be hard to find. Yongsan will have lots of old stuff. You can check there. Other places, well...
Or you could just keep an eye on the streets. From time to time you see old PCs. Try opening them for the memory sticks inside.
Other thing to do is make sure that you have no unneeded programs running in memory on your PC. |

| I'll have to open my desktop to see if it matches what I have. Also, how much would you expect for that. One more thing, you said you got that from your laptop, so would it fit into a desktop? |

Laptop memory won't work in a desktop, unless I'm really mistaken or things have changed recently.
