Hi, straight to the point, I have a close relative who is gravley(sp) ill and I may have to dash home for a funeral within the next few weeks,I think its literally going to be a middle of the night call...if/when this happens my mother is going to have to book me a flight since i don't have a c/card...so my question...can anyone reccommend a website/airline that will allow my mother to book an emergency flight from busan to heathrow,london...
i have checked out korean air for a test run but it keeps coming up that are no seats available anytime anyday :/ and i really cant take a risk on this, any info will be highly appreciated...cheers......stiofan... |

Airlines that serve both Busan and London:
Air China
Asiana
China Eastern
Japan Airlines
Korean Air
Thai
Vietnam Airlines
That's it. Otherwise you would need two or more different airlines.
Just get her to go to any of the above airline offices in your home country and buy a ticket over the counter for collection by you in Korea.
Generally for security reasons - she would not be able to buy you a ticket online anyway, as the rules are generally that the person paying has to be a passenger themselves, so over the counter by her is generally the only way to do it. |

British Airways does bereavement fare. Ask your mother to buy it directly from them if all else fails.
Dragon Air, part of Cathay Pacific, also flies out to Busan to Heathrow. They also do bereavement fares.. |

The thing I found out when my father passed away 3 years ago, is that "bereavement" fares are based on FULL fare tickets. It will probably be cheaper to go with the regular fare. Be sure you mom asks about both, though.
FYI, all travel agents in Korea will take bank transfers. If you'd rather book the ticket from here, it's not difficult. |

I would think www.expedia.com would be a great resource. They search just about all the airlines and will only post availability if a seat is, in fact, available. It also allows you to search the lowest fairs in the timeframe you specify. |
