Are there any rock or metal festivals in Korea in the summertime? I've heard there are some but I haven't found any info. I'd like to organize my vacation around some kind of festival.

Thanks.

I think the Busan rock festival had Deicide/Soulfly and a couple of other heavy bands at it last year or the year before. not sure of the dates though. Japan seems to be heavy metal central, all the big bands seem to tour there and skip Korea. The Summer Sonic festival in Osaka and Tokyo might be worth a look, I know a few years back they used to get a decent amount of metal bands over for it, it seems to have gone in a cruddy NME indie direction now though

I doubt Korea would have a sizeable metal festival, despite a relatively large metal scene.

Personally, I hate festivals. I'd rather see a band in a small club, where I can get up close and talk to them.

I know what you mean but I also love sitting outside in the sun drinking beers with my mates and listening to good music. I'll grant you that this applies to smaller scale festivals more than the mega-festivals that typify these days.
