Bacasper, No. Would you? Maybe, I had that response coming.

Cbclark, play nice. How many times do you need to be reminded?

Ummmm ... actually i see no reason to take personal offense Enrico.

Surely wasn't intended as anything more than a harmless "joke".

Don't you get it?

From Dick to Gaylord? Laughing Shocked

Uhhhh ... it's still ok to laugh here isn't it? Wink

Have you noticed that all the threads dealing with the mods asking forum users their opinions have all disappeared?

I guess they weren't welcomed as the heroes they evidently perceive themselves to be and now the slash-and-burn of threads will be done more out of spite than general good for the board. SIGH

Personally, I'm laughing at the fact that it took no longer than two days for most all of you to go from:

"You want me to act as smart as I believe myself to be? Hells yeah! I can do that!"

to:

"Ehnn, it's just easier to be an asshole all of the time like the TV pundits I'm aping."

Well, well, well....if it isn't the pot out calling the kettles black again. "Most all of you" indeed. Time to snag a clue mr. pot.

Really? Shocked

*shrugs*

Oh well, i guess it shouldn't be that surprising.

Excluding mainland China, Dave's ESL has recently been voted the web's #1 "harshest forum" in promoting censorship & political ( wrong-think ) "correctness" Wink

Okay... here's a clue: Wannago and a number of other users decided it was easier for them to remain assholes...

Where is Nowhere Man and his innocent and general concern for civil discourse on this board? Wink

Once you do us the favor of laying out in precise terms just what this agenda is, I'll be very happy if you, IGTG, wannago, and Regicide all get together and give us a powerpoint presentation on how the grand mod conspiracy ties in to the Illuminati, the liberal plot to destroy the Christian faith, and the JFK assassination.

Then I think you'll be on the right track to The Grand Theory of Internet Wackjobs

Might I remind you where the term childish first appeared in this thread and the manner in which it was used.

I play nice I am on of the nicest posters on this forum.

I speak my mind I try to be kind, I call it as I see it.

Someone calls you on your irrational use of power you call them childish.

Someone yaps on about a frackin ball of frackin yarn with an air of regal frackin superiority well, yes quite childish.

And believe me I am being nice when I say these things, I am reserved in my manner and I am being overly polite.

Like I've said before the two new ones really should take that ball of yarn and play elsewhere.

The board of moderators should re-assess the decision to place these two
in such a position and should try to avoid allowing a single moderator to
stack the deck with personal choices that carry such "an agenda".

As I said before the term is Moderator, not Exterminator.

Cbclark, you may be, in fact, one of the nicest posters on the forum.
If you have any questions for any of the moderators do use the PM function. If you have any issues with a particular post or thread you can either PM or send a report. That's the SOP, standard operating procedure. It is understandable posters have different concerns. Whatever they may be send them to the various moderators of your choosing, file reports etc....

I don't know any of these moderators posting in this thread, but they sure come across as patient and reasonable.

I can't say the same for the belligerent CE debating team members who desperately want a public war with them. I'd have unplugged them long ago.

However, they rarely venture out into the other forums where the humans are, so they're for the most part harmless.

How do we know they're being "patient and reasonable"? How do we know they aren't the ones starting wars with their own socks? Considering the amount of harassment and bullying they've not only tolerated but condoned outright, I have a hard time taking their calls for "civility" seriously.

I guess that's the difference between those people that subscribe to the Communist viewpoint and those that subscribe to the viewpoint that the rules have been ignored so long, how can you put the toothpaste back in the tube?

If I were that concerned with having CE members play nice with each other, I wouldn't have let it go for as long as it did. As a teaching website, Dave's mods should know that you can't start enforcing the classroom rules half-way through the school year.

Having said that, this forum is VERY mild compared to some. I can't believe the thin skin that some people have that won't allow them to take some anonymous internet bantering without damaging their weak self-esteem. The real world sometimes isn't a nice place.

BTW, some posters in this forum don't post on other Korean boards because they don't live in Korea. They might, however, post on some of the international boards where the non-delusional humans are.

I entirely agree with all the rest of Mr. Lemon's post, but I do want to nitpick about the comment above. In nine years on the board, I don't remember a time when the General Forum has been over-run to such an extent with as negative, whiney posters as it has been this winter. Ugh.
