ok if im going to be living somewhere for a year, it goes without saying that guys have certain..needs..ha. i have no idea what to expect in this regard. in a place like seoul, are women generally hesitant to get involved with foreigners? are they generally more prudish or open minded? i guess enough of them speak enough english to be able to actually communicate?
i really have no clue what to expect on the women front. the last thing i want is to spend a whole year in the cold being kept at arms length cause im not korean. im in shape and quite decent looking btw. not just some fat greasy clown lol. so basically what im saying is, for the guys who have gone over there, have you had generally good experiences in this area?

I can't help but groan when I see threads like this; one pops up every few weeks and the same discussions happen each time.

However, the search function doesn't work well and, since you're new, you obviously don't know. I really think there should be a sticky about Korean women, but according to the moderator I brought it up to, that's not going to happen.

Anyway: you can date here. Some people find it easier than in their home country, some harder. But lots of Korean women speak English and are interested in foreigners.

Rolling Eyes

As has been said a million times before on this forum, If you have no problems in the dating department back home, you'll do fine here in Korea. If you can't get a girlfriend you can always do what your average adjosshi does and pay to have your needs met.

See, the thing is, Korea is pretty densely packed with people. You can throw your hat and hit like 20 of 'em accidentally. That means that there are enough girls around for all the possible answers to your questions to be true. There are both prudish girls and open minded girls. There are enough that speak english and enough that don't speak english. There are girls who would never touch a foreigner and girls who can't get enough hot foreigner action. There are girls who give you good experiences and girls who give you bad ones too. There are all these girls.

The only constant is that they all have the same eyes, hair color, and mannerisms. In fact they're pretty much interchangeable with each other.

Good luck and have fun!

If you're working in Jeolla-Do or Gangwon-Do, fat chance of your English co-teachers speaking English, let alone the hotties on the street. All single men either kill themselves or move to Seoul/Busan/Daegu.

"There are no WOMEN IN KOREA, all reproduction is asexual. You've seen adjumas right?!"

The "Ajumma phenomenon" is coming to an end, imo.

I agree, but we are seeing the beginning of 'missies' and 'hot-jumahs'. In 10 years when I'm 33 I'm so going to enjoy Korea. Now, it is not such a good place.

It's easy to meet women here in both Pusan and Seoul if you just try a little.

If you don't feel like trying, it'll only cost 40,000W as well. Laughing
