Well if it wasn't bad enough having Hitler/Nazi Bars, and Anti Semetic Comics, now we have a Korean cosmetic company called Coreana utilizing a Nazi theme in it's television advertising.
We have a pretty girl dressed in a provocative Wermacht uniform wearing a Wermacht officers hat. Incredible! |

I'm speechless. Thank god this country never had the intelligence to become a world power, could you imagine this country and its people having any real influence... |

Makes sense, really. Koreans wish they were white. What imagery is whiter than an Aryan in an SS uniform?
Just goes to show--it's not a single dumb segment like bar owners, banks, or Government officials. It's Korean Kulture that is absolutely FUBAR.

I wonder why so many Koreans seem to feel "We want to terrorize the human race too, just like Mao, Stalin, and Japan." Why can't they learn from the Swiss? |

The girl is pretty sexy...fail to see what's Nazi about it, though. |

She's in a sort-of Nazi type uniform. However, I think the uniform is rather ambiguous--no obvious Nazi markings.
In the second ad you can hear German (I think hitler) in the background.
I dunno...it's just a pretty fucked up marketing campaign in all regards.
I see all military equally--I can't object to this anymore than I could if it were a Russian/North Korean/Chinese/American/Albanian or whatever uniform. |

I've seen this CF plenty of times but I've never really noticed that "nazi" themed uniform. Whenever I see the CF, I always think about the "nokdu" in my pantry. I didn't know it has "beautifying" properties. I need to buy tomatoes and cook it. |

Good lord. What does the Hangul say in the first ad? Something about Hitler? |

Indeed
And in the first one you see a painting of the French revolution in the back.
So .....
It is nothing more then suggestive, I also don't really recognize the uniform, its more of a designer out fit then anything else.
Don't exaggerate I would say. |

Yeah, I saw it. Karl Rove couldn't spin his way out of this.
Alright, who here wants to e-mail this to the ADL or B'Nai B'rith? |

Wouldn't make too much of this....Koreans (Asians) simply do not share the emotional reaction wetserners have to Nazi imagery.
It is, I suppose, the same with Japan. Where Koreans and Chinese might be upset upon seeing a flag of the Japanese Imperial Army, (which, if you watch J-league baseball closely, you can see being waved by some fans), westerners would not have the same reaction.
Asians are not 'tuned in' to and do not have the same feelings about Nazi imagery. It is not part of their 'cultural inheritance' if you will. |

Yes, but imagine we started waving a bunch of old Japanese flags around, parading around like it's a good thing back home! A few people could, yes. A national commercial would never make it to the air though. It's not a cultural thing nor is it meant to glorify nazism, but it IS ignorant. |
