When you go to those countries, people will try to make a custom suit for you. You will have so many offers, it's ridiculous. Yes, those are probably good places to have a custom suit made. Make sure you offer a ridiculously low price for the first one. Tell the guy if you like the first, you will buy many. |

Hoi Anh in Vietnam is the place to have good quality clothes made. I'm still wearing the stuff 4 years later. |

You can also have shoes made there, and accesories like hand bags can also be done.
Takes 2 days and you can hang out on beautiful China beach while you wait. |

I did a Tuk-Tuk tour of the temples in Bangkok. The three wheel taxi driver kept bugging me to go to tailor to have a suit made. I can imagine it would be much cheaper to find the tailor on your own. |

Thailands stuff is cheap quality and not made well. Tuk-Tuk drivers are total scam artists. Lived in SE Asia for 3 yrs.
We actually flew into Vietnam while working in japan specially to have clothes made in Hoi Anh since the first experience was so good. Flew in with empty luggage, and out with 40kg between us. Less than $1000 including suits, shoes, bags..... |

I have had clothes made in Bangkok and Hoi An. The stuff made in Hoi An lasted a few weeks before they started to fall apart, but it was cheap.
In Bangkok, I had a wool jacket made that has held up well and I wear it all the time.
My choice is Bangkok for suits...there is a good tailor (from India) on the ground floor of the Four Sons Place hotel. It is south of Ko San Road in a little alley. The tailor made my jacket and some clothes for my girlfriend. It was more expensive than Hoi An, but less expensive than the tailors in Itaewon and I think the quality was better than in Itaewon.
I'm going back next week and will probably have some shirts made. |
