1000won blackjack minimum the last time I was there, manual shuffle, 8 decks - deep penetration. Generous rules, slow paced game. Nice selection of free non-alcoholic drinks.

Don't play Carribean Stud Poker.

Went there this winter as a part of a ski trip. The whole resort is actually pretty nice. The casino is nice and ppl are friendly. Drinks are pricey. So is food. We just played slots but they had many different card games going on.. (dont know what they were, exactly)

Is there a dress code to get into Gangwon Land Casino? Also, does anyone know if it is a nonsmoking facility? Oh, and one more thing, is there a buffet? Razz

No dress code.

There are smoking rooms within the casino.

No buffet that I noticed.

Are you aware that there are a few casinos in Seoul? I've only been to the one in the Hilton, and it was fun. It was the first time I'd ever been to a casino so I have no frame of reference but I enjoyed it. We got free (alcoholic) drinks and food there too. Made for a good day out.

the only casino in korea for koreans, so take a guess at what kind of traffic this place would get. Lots of people at all times of the day and week. Los of ajjushi's and ajjuma's, and lots of degenerate looking gamblers. Koreans are limitied from visiting the casino too, I believe it's 4 times a month.

When I went, it was soooo packed with chink tourists. I though I was in China. Chink gamblers are the worst. Not enough table games for the amount of peple, too many people crowding around the roulette table.

The place has so much potential to be a real great place if it will only expand, meaning more tables, different games and possibly a poker room. Bing, Keno, sports betting and korean games would be good tooo.

5000 won entrance fee for Koreans, foreigners are freee. Worth a visit, if you need a gambling fix and stuck in Gangwondo.

I stayed there last year, and although the limits at the tables are lower than the casinos in Seoul (1000 min.), the hotel is not cheap. $200 a night i think it was. Food was pricey too. Also the casino was absolutely jam packed, and I couldn't get to any of the card tables at all...people were playing three deep, reaching over each other to place bets on top of other people's bets. The only time I was able to get to any table at all was roulette just after breakfast.
At the Hilton by Seoul Station, they have 2000 and 5000 blackjack (although its tough to get a spot), 5000 baccarat, and the roulette min is 2500, inside and outside. Also, like someone mentioned already, you get free drinks served at the table. Plus the crowds are light, aside from Friday and Saturday nights.
Gangwon is a really nice place, and there are alot of reasons to visit, but the casino definitely isn't one of them.
