|
|
Just like my last post I'm wondering if anyone knows places in Phuket to stay on the beach just for a weekend. Hopefully with prices less than 150 a night. Any help is appreciated. ^^ Also what would the cost be for 3 days in Thailand? |

I've been there more than once. I never make a reservation. I just show up and find a place. The last time i went I stayed at the J.T. house for 300 baht a night. It was near Karon beach and only a short taxi ride from Patong beach. Don't let the taxi driver help you find a hotel because they get a commision. |

We stayed in a neat little hotel behind club med on Kata Beach. The beach was lovely and clean and very few tourists! Definitely much better than Patong. |

I say thumbs down to Phuket. It's getting similar to Pattaya and I would'nt have been all that impressed with Phuket even if it didn't have the hooker bars.
Skip Phuket and go to Koh Samui or something. |

Kho Samui is nothing special. The water is really dirty and clogged with seaweed. If you want to go to some really nice beaches check out Krabbi.
I would stay on Aou Nang beach from there you can go on tons of day tours including Phi Phi Islands. Raily beach Hong Island Kho Lanta.
The five Islands in one day are great deals just watch out for the Sea Urchins |

I enjoyed the one night that I stayed in Khao Lak at the Mukdara Hotel.
It was about $80/night when I went in July of last year.
If you're in Phuket then Burasari Hotel isn't too bad, but it is 10-15 minutes away by foot to all the bars.
It's a little small, but their breakfast buffet was perfect, staff were very friendly, rooms were spacious and quiet. It was about $80-85/night

Its much more family and couple orientated. Then again if you get bored
Patong Beach is pretty close
Depends what your looking for plenty of Irish pubs in Au Nang. They also have the open air beer bars connect four and barfining. No gogo bars. No ladyboy scene. |

Phuket has more choices for beaches and just riding around on a bike and exploring.
Samui is small and limited.
I suspect you don't know Phuket all that well. |

It ain't just me who says thumbs down to Phuket. Who knows, maybe I'll give it another try but not in the foreseeable future. |
