Hi all the new GEPIK teachers Smile

We are pleased to announce that the GEPIK orientation will be held for the following dates:

April 30, May 1 and May 2 - for Elementary school GEPIK teachers

May 6, 7 and 8 - for Middle & High school GEPIK teachers

It will be at the "La Vie D'Or Resort" located in Hwaseong city (http://www.laviedorresort.co.kr/)

A kind reminder to current GEPIK teachers -these orientations are for the new GEPIK teachers only (ie you've never been to one except the one-day workshop held in Everland park, Dec 2007)

More than anything, it will be a great time of learning, exchanging, and networking while having some fun too.

Stay tuned - we will keep you informed on further details soon,

Look forward to seeing you all there !

Kind regards,

GEPIK coordinators
Wenise Kim (Elementary school)
Dain Bae (Middle&High school)
for
Supervisor Scarlet Hyun-ju Choi, GPOE

How nice of them to hold orientation for middle & high school teachers when most their schools will be closed for holidays. Rolling Eyes

I think the teachers should e-mail their thoughts about the orientation dates to Wenise Kim and Dain Bae. Cruisemonkey, I do agree with you.

I would think that the one day "workshop" was enough.

And I'm pretty sure the reason they're holding it during the K-teachers' holiday is so no one will have to cover our classes while we're away.

^

Just got an email from Dain Bae. The orientation is scheduled for the 7, 8, and 9 of May.

...we originally scheduled it around April to do the orientation however, due to change in E2 regulation, our new GEPIK teachers are arriving in Korea later than expected. Therefore, we had to rescheduled it in May

Does anyone know the easiest way to get to the resort from Hwaseong station? I'm not going to be staying in a hotel room with a bunch of kids playing drinking games (no offense intended to you old hands)!

Considering that a lot of us have vacation from May 3-12, I guess we're the lucky ones.

9 days off for Children's Day and Buddha's birthday? I had no idea those holidays meant so much to people here.

Good to know. Thanks. I've already told my supervisor about it and she hadn't even heard of it yet. She's beginning to be impressed by how soon I know various info before she even tells me about it (or even hears about it herself in this case).

If she ever asks me what the forum is that I get this info from, I will NEVER tell her. Very Happy Laughing Very Happy Can't help out the opposition too much, now can we?

If you consider your Korean coworkers as "the opposition" well, that's really sad.
