Simple question. "Here" refers to the Current Events forum. Posters create multiple threads and repeat the process on this forum. There must be, roughly, three dozen or so threads treating JFK's assassination here. That presupposes an interest in reading them. That makes this a fair and pertinent question.
Well, then? |

No. The issue has been, pardon the expression, done to death. Only whacked-out nut-job conspiracy theorists who cannot accept evidence or actual forensic science think that it happened any other way than the official version.

Personally, it doesn't interest me. It happened 45 years ago, and there are sealed files, and there are so many modern issues to look at, and no one feels they can really get a handle who done it kind of thing....
If someone wants to post about it, let them go ahead, but I don't feel we should get post after post about it rather than it being in one thread or adding a post to an establish thread or maybe there could be a stick for those conspiracy people, maybe. I am not sure how you can deal with this topic exactly?
Any thoughts? |

It's been done to death, indeed. But now our resident conspiracy-monger is taking up another Kennedy killing, this time with Bobby.
I think the continued presence of so many similar threads on this forum speaks volumes about the efficacy of the MOD Team. |

I voted "yes".
Am I interested in discussing the JFK assassination?
Nope.
Should we allow discussion of the JFK assasination here?
I think that's what this poll is really about.
My answer is "absolutely".
Should we have 34 threads about it? No.
But regicide has already accepted having one thread as fair.
Done deal.
So what happens if the majority don't want to discuss JFK?
It goes in the forum guidelines that JFK is not to be discussed here?
That's a load. |

Relax. This poll is about a single question, no more no less. Stop putting motives into my head and words into my mouth. Your voting behavior and your explantion for it make perfect sense to me, incidentally. |

JFK threads should be in off-topic. The assassination of JFK is not a "Current Event." |

I'm not interested in discussing the JFK assassination, but that is neither here nor there. If others on this forum want to discuss it, it's their right as far as I'm concerned...the only thing I object to is spamming the forum. |

Nowhere, come on now. What can you contribute in terms of possible solutions? It is not certain how this stalking comment, may not be helpful. OTOH and Ya-Ta-Boy and Manner of Speaking offered good suggestions. However, they do not post these threads. It would be good to have those who post these types of thread weigh in on these things.
We can discuss these things sans excessive emotions, I hope, and showing how the other has been done wrong by so and so poster.
Also, how long would you say the JFK thread has been discussed? A few months, a year, or what? Is this a permanent topic in your eyes. Obviously, those who post it think it's an important topic.
Remember, this has only been dealt with, because it was brought up by certain posters in passing when solicited by mods, so we are trying to ascertain what issues are out there, but you could have always and can do so now send reports when you have concerns. If people don't complain about certain things, how can we know if there is a problem or not. I don't mean complain as in whine on the board, I mean as in PMing mods and sending reports and the like as three mods have stated in the past two weeks on this board. The reports have been coming out in increasing numbers, and that is good, but we need more when you have concerns. It doesn't mean we can get to them right on the spot.
Possible solutions and ideas....
Thanks...
Bramble, I edited my own post. You can do that with your posts as well....

I think that the total lack of post reports from specific users about such similar threads/posts speaks volumes about whether they consider this a big deal worth getting up in arms about. |

Did someone edit their post? I think Nowhere Man made some very valid points.

I voted NO, but really that's not strong enough to express my lack of interest in posters such as Regicide and Igotthisguitar. Almost without exception, I skip their posts and don't click on their threads. Given this, it doesn't really bother me. |
