Games are not region-coded, but movies usually are.

Australia is in a different blu-ray movie region.

North America, Japan, and Korea are in the same blu-ray region.

Don't buy a Korean one if you are planning to go to australia.

Two things:

1. Get a receipt.
2. Make sure they write their store information in the space provided on top of the box. This is necessary for your warranty.

thanks for all the replies. So, in your humble opinion, what would I be better off buying? I rarely play games, but when I do, I want something better than my PS2. My wife likes the idea of the Nintendo Wii, but I was never a big fan of Nintendo. Is the 360 that much better (for games) than the PS3? Is there a big price difference at Yongsan? I know I can buy it for around 330,000 on Gmarket.

Is a 20GB hard drive standard?

Again, thanks for everything.

Dont listen to the ones saying dont buy 20gb... if you see it at a decent price GET IT it is fully backwards compat (if games are same region) and you can always upgrade the HDD.

Otherwise get the 60gb first version with all the memory card slots and extra usb slots (this is the version I will be bringing with me), this ALSO does back compat if ps2/1 games are same region as the console.

You can always upgrade HDD at any time so its not about the console its about your needs.

If you want multimedia card slots and back compat buy the original release 60gb.

If you want just back compat get the 20gb (this however doesn't have wireless built in).

If your not bothered about B/C or extra MMC/USB ports just get a 40gb then upgrade HDD.

As of today, you still can't go to Playstation Alley and find someone to hard-mod the PS3? How is that possible...they can mod everything....

What about in Songtan? I know there's a few video game shops around Osan AFB that mod systems....

Nobody, around the globe, has been able to play backups on a ps3 yet.

Kind of impressive, really. I play most of my games online, so I wouldn't really be interested. It's not like there are a million games to download and try out anyway.

Well Sonys willing to spend a lot more on protection techniques than pirates can spend on breaking them. You have to give it time before they figure out what to do.

One of these days we will see unmoddable machines.
