I've been using this version of MS Office for years.
I downloaded it as a bit torrent file.
Pretty simple to do. |

Mission accomplished. Thank you, Ttompaz. You are one heck of a fellow. I owe you a Mexican dinner if you like that sort of thing. |

It never ceases to amaze me when people come here, in the year 2008, 11-12 years after file-sharing started, and ask where they can get software. |
Indeed it is amazing

I would be happy to pay for some software, but none of it is reasonably priced. Most software on the market is gougeware. |

Well, I for one wouldn't get caught with counterfeit software. That's why I do my shopping in The Yongsan Tunnel. |

At my last school, I used to make openoffice documents (save as .doc), which would change, if it had images, when sent to another user to open in MS Word.
You can export everything as a pdf in openoffice, which is readable by all PCs. |

I feel the same way about sports car. And, yet, I haven't stolen a car. |

Right. I forgot about that function. RTF is readable by all word processing programs, AFAIK, even by that clunker Hangeul. PDF is readable by PCs that have the Adobe PDF Reader program or another program equipped to open such files. |

Apples to apples then.
Imagine there is an endless (as far as your eyes can see) line of Porsche coupes slowly traveling past your home...heck, the streets are plugged with them all over the world. They are driverless, all have the keys inside, no serial numbers on them, nothing that would lead someone back to you at all and there is nobody watching over the procession moving in front of your home. They are right there in front of you, not 5 meters away.
If you take one, there is a minuscule chance, and I do mean minuscule, that someone will catch you. Minuscule because everyone and their dog is driving one around. |

Your choice.
I'd jump in that Porsche in a hearbeat.
I'm especially happy to pirate Microsoft. They are one of the richest companies in the world and continue to make huge profits despite widespread piracy. |

If there was no piracy, do you think MS would have lower prices ?
Possibly a lot lower, or competition would take their customers. |

There is also a good argument about how piracy is keeping prices in line. |

ever take something home from your job and keep it? that's stealing.
How about checking personal email while at work? that's stealing time. |

Actually, I have but only after receiving permission. That, then, isn't stealing.

Again, I have permission from my employer.
It's quite easy to settle these things in advance. |
