I'm trying to find a few songs that have music videos in the form of a story to use in class.

For example, The Scientist by Coldplay (and is cool cuz it goes backwards) is exactly what I am looking for but I used it last year.

Preferably the lyrics are fairly slow, easily understood, and suitable for class. Smile

Can anyone remember videos like this??

Thanks.

Mr. Morton is the subject of the sentence....old School of Rock video and it has textual support as Mr. Morton falls in love.......

Really rocks and you can find it in our pop up player for EFL Classroom 2.0 along with hundreds of other videos... but go directly here for it, in our vimeo young learners videos.... http://www.vimeo.com/album/753

The video quality of that sucks! If you are going to use video in the classroom, at least support it with text and let the learning start from there. They can get other tunes outside of class. Here's the EFL version I made....

Billy Talent -- Nothing to Lose

I think you can stream the video from the group's website.

Basically, it's about a kid who was bullied and no one noticed or cared. Eventually, the torment led to suicide and the lyrics are the note that was left behind.

Not really cheerful, but it can lead to good discussions of some major issues at schools everywhere.

Lyrics:

Need more friends with wings
All the angels I know
Put concrete in my veins
Id always walk home alone
So I became lifeless
Just like my telephone

Theres nothing to lose
When no one knows your name
Theres nothing to gain
But the days dont seem to change

Never played truth or dare
Id have to check my mirror
To see if Im still here
My parents had no clue
That I ate all my lunches
Alone in the bathroom

Theres nothing to lose
When no one knows your name
Theres nothing to gain
But the days dont seem to change
Theres nothing to lose
My notebook will explain
Theres nothing to gain
And I cant fight the pain

Teacher said its just a phase
When I grow up, my children
Will probably do the same
Kids just love to tease
Who knew it'd put me under ground
At seventeen

Theres nothing to lose
When no one knows your name
Theres nothing to gain
But the days dont seem to change
Theres nothing to lose
My notebook will explain
Theres nothing to gain
And I cant fight the pain
Theres nothing to lose
When no one knows your name
Theres nothing to gain
But the days dont seem to change
Theres nothing to lose
When no one knows your name
Theres nothing to gain
And I just died today

I'd also suggest My name is Luka. Good topic for both teachers and students and told in the vein of a story...
