I have been wondering what effect President Lee's trip to the police station would have on the country's police force. Well today I possible got the answer. While I was heading to work I actually saw some police officer's giving tickets to people for traffic violations!!!! I almost thought I would never see the day when a police officer here actually starting earning their pay!

What hath he wrought?
(I'm a scooter driver without a legal licence who takes the sidewalks often)
I do have to admit he's been doing a lot of good lately. His treatment of North Korea seems to be working, and he got the police fired up, and he's negotiating with the US to allow Koreans into the US without a visa. There's been a lot less of the canal-building, English-immersing, Jesus-humping white-collar criminal originally elected. |

Yeah right. Next you'll tell us you saw the Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus, a young Korean women without makeup, an old Korean man who doesn't wear a business suit as pajamas, and an Equus not in black or silver. |

What exactly did he do in the police station? Give them a good telling off? |

| He's got all the teachers at one of my middle schools teaching 3 hours more per week than they used to. At least my co-worker told me it was his fault. Since I rely on these people to get me home (I live 40 minutes away) I'm stuck here too, often with little to do. |

Yeah, don't take my comments as approval. He still could turn into the next Chun Doohwan.

He went down there when they proved to be useless at catching that child abductor, and ended up firing a few of them.
Ironically, the 20-year-old girl who rescued the little girl turned out to be the niece of one of the cops who got fired. It seems she was a little pissed about that. |

His administration still has a lot of people from that administration. He wants Koreans to stop shaking their fists at the Japanese (not necessarily bad) as well as Korea's own past dictators including Chun. He wants to close the books on South Korean military atrocities such as the Gwangju Massacre. He could turn out to be very bad for Korea's already limited freedom of speech, and I know my in-laws are expecting a lot of legal action and intimidation due to their political activities in the near future, just like what happened with Park and Chun. Also, Chun Doohwan left office taking a fortune in tax money with him which was never recovered.
I'm sure if you asked Lee Myungbag, he'd consider it an honour that I compare him to Chun Doohwan.
