I make a club with pesto mayo (just mix a little scoop of pesto in with your mayo). The pesto mayo makes all the difference..

A delicious combination of ham and turkey, plus Swiss and American cheeses
on wheat bread. Lightly battered and fried until golden. Dusted with powdered
sugar and served with red raspberry preserves for dipping.

A fried peanut butter and banana sandwich! If it was good enough for Elvis, it's good enough for you.

Open face pizza sandwhich is mine. I don't have a deli, or even decent bread at my disposal.

Sandwiches are SO last month. Try this:

Chicken Souvlaki Wrap

1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 t oregano
bit of garlic
salt and pepper

one or two chicken breasts, cut in strips

Put in a baggie and marinate for at least 3 hours or over-night.

Dump some of the chicken and marinade in a skillet and fry till done.

Take a serving of yogurt and add some dill if you have it. Spread over a tortilla, and add the chicken and anything you want:

Chopped onion
Sliced black onions
Chopped tomato
Feta cheese
Lettuce
Chopped bell peppers

The number of 'sandwiches' you can make will depend on how much stuff you pile in each one.

OP: Why not a good ole' hot dog Chicago style with tomatoes, dill pickles, onions and mustard? All easily available here in Korea.

Wheat bread? It's everywhere. E-mart, Costco, Parisian Bakery (bought some whole wheat hot dog buns tonight at Parisian - a treat to myself for getting my paycheck today).

I don't have any of those places nearby. There's an E-mart not SO far, and come to think of it I saw whole wheat there once, but that's out of like 12 trips. They don't usually have it.

Cheese and vegemite. Or perhaps roast chicken breast, shredded, with stuffing, cheddar cheese and coleslaw.

Whole-gain bread (wheat berries, oats, flax, & honey)
Leftover turkey
Two strips of bacon
Sprouts, not lettuce
Tomato
Smoked Gruyere or Edam
Miracle Whip
Drizzle some Italian dressing on the sprouts
Spicy mustard (the Korean "yeon kyeo ja" is surprisingly good on sandwiches)

...and a good hot bowl of homemade soup for dipping.

Ask your students. They'll suggest apple, jam, ham, potato, etc.
