Aye, cheers to that.

so what you're saying is this is about sex then?

and you're willing to relinquish your public persona of masculinity, independence, maturity, etc. in exchange for nookie? Shocked

You know, always fretting about whether you look masculine enough in public is actually pretty gay.

Carrying purse? Gay or not, I don't know, but you're emasculated.

You're no man, man!

I have to say walking around carrying a woman's purse or bag (unless in unusual circumstances, you can do it once in a very very long while)

is about as gay and emasculating as I can think of.

For me, personally, that would have be a King Midas nookie, with more sexual skills than in the Karma Sutra. She'd have to take me to heaven and back each time I was with her.

that said - who cares what I or anyone else thinks. It's your life and if you don't care and are happy with your hot "piece of ass". It's ultimately up to you.

I have to begrudgingly give you credit for not caring about your "public persona". I'm the same way.

I was considering making this into a new thread.. but perhaps it's best to leave it in this one, so no one gets "offended" Smile

the guy who was talking about "hot piece of ass" re his Korean gf.

I have a question about that.

since I am a legs/ ass man (as opposed to typical N. American breast man)

when I was in Latin America i was in HEAVEN, because those women have the best asses on Earth and wear very tight jeans to show them off that much more Smile Those girls love their curves and have them to spare. (as opposed to fat chicks in NA to whom "curvy" is a supposed excuse for being fat. Curves are curves. fat is fat.

Every Asian woman I have ever seen (with some exceptions in Indonesia and Philllippines) has what I'd call "massive FLAT ass syndrome".

I'm not sure a truckload of Viagra can help me when presented with "that". Just not that interested. Probably only if my cojones turn completely blue.

so I'm already kind of resigned to living with my hand.

REALLY?

well are you talking about modern US style "obese" Europe?
or France and the countries in Eastern Europe where hotties are still hotties

I don't expect anything on the par with Colombia, Venezuela or Brazil, (where let's face it it's the black blood mix that creates this, that's why it's absent in places like Mexico where they're flatbutted as well) but as I said... among the Asian women I have seen (and I've seen my share) it's really a problem.

As a similarly minded friend who's lived in Brazil said when we were in Thailand.

"some women are absolutely beautiful.. china doll stunning beautiful... could look at them all day..but fornication was a different matter"

Im from the UK where fatties are a problem...but ive also lived in france and go there as often as possible...I have a thing for french girls Surprised
Ive also travelled throughout europe extensively...and yeah, korean girls asses can compete...the average euro girl doesnt have an incredible ass....the average girl is just that..average Surprised

Im not talking asians in general here, but koreans specifically...Im sure its due to the same reasons that korean dudes are taller than other asians..something in the water..or in the kimchi..

In my experience, korean girls are more well formed than other northern asian girls.

Carrying a girl's purse is not something that I would necessarily do, and it is strange to me, but it's only bag. Just doin' something nice for your girl. Additionally, pink is only a color, and if you cannot confidently wear pink as a man that is your problem which speaks to some deeper level of insecurity and weakness. Be confident, be strong, and simply laugh at the peculiarity of it all without judgment.

I guess some of you just don't get it then - the female who is expecting this kind of behavior from the male is (1) using him to do her bidding of something that is entirely unnecessary that she can do herself (2) displaying this in a public place, therefore presenting the relationship as dominated by her (3) making it clear in no uncertain terms her "man" is under her control simply by the fact he will do something so incredibly stupid as to carry her purse.

I guess I'm just a diehard old fashioned equality gal who prefers things on a more equal basis is all. Don't like domination on either side. Sure things slip and slide from time to time, but unnecessary "do my bidding because everyone else is doing it" just doesn't ring true for me.

I can't believe the amount of Western...cultural imperialism...

How is not carrying her purse cultural imperialism? Nobody is trying to stop Koreans from doing it, but just saying that it looks odd to their Western eye and that they'd rather not do it. It's one's prerogative to be of his culture, and being so to this extent isn't out of bounds or intruding on Korean-ness.

I don't feel comfortable carrying a woman's purse. It doesn't threaten my gender security or anything like that, but I think it's silly for her to put all kinds of care into buying something that compliments her style and then expect her boyfriend, whose style most certainly clashes with the purse, to carry it. More practically, people should be willing and able to carry their own stuff within reason. I'd of course move her fridge for her, but she should be able to handle her purse. Also, I took to carrying a shoulder bag (the khaki one) when I was in Tokyo, so it's not like she can complain that she's doing more than I am.

I'd have to disagree given everyone says this is common in Korea.
(I'm not in Korea yet... will be there in a month)

there IS something to be said for putting aside your own social customs/judgments and doing as the Romans do.

BUT

I'd be very curious as to the cultural reasoning of why this is so..

AND the sight of any guy who takes himself half seriously walking around with his gf's hot pink purse is going to have me in stitches.

I guess I'll be walking around Korea laughing my ass off as these people wonder why I'm laughing.

besides with my Latin American background, not only would a guy doing this in LA get hooted and hollered off the street, no girl would give his fairy acting ass the time of day. They like their men to be men. (of course, then they "complain" to gringos how their men are too "macho".
Shocked
