The lead singer of the group 고북이 'turtles' Im Sung-hoon (aka turtleman) died on Wednesday morning. I don't think anyone's posted this yet. He had a heart attack. He was only 37-years old. They were pretty poppy but I thought he had a good voice on his rapping.

Damn. When i first got there, they had the biggest hit on TV and were my first intro to K-pop. RIP.

This is big news, I guess. Another thread started here:

http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?t=118901

I'm unfamiliar with the group (although I've seen the subway ads for a latest cd). I generally don't scout out Korean music, as most of it sucks. I'll check out the above links to see what I was missing.

edit: I actually know those songs from hearing them in random places, I just never knew the group. They aren't very good, IMO.

Good shit! That turtle-guitarist was ripping the power chords on that one-string!

Very Happy

He was a big man if my memory serves me correctly. That might explain the heart attack at such a young age. I liked a couple of their tracks.
