Korean international schools in China and Vietnam (and probably other places though my woman hasn't looked yet) pay very well.
For example, in China she would earn approx W3m/month + a housing allowance + flights. That salary is way higher than what I would earn as an English teacher in China (or even most jobs in Korea). In Vietnam she could expect to earn about 2.8m a month, with a housing allowance and flights on top of that too. Those salaries are really high for their respective countries. One could live a very comfortable lifestyle.
She isn't a public school teacher here, but is qualified enough to work in a Korean school abroad.
Has anyone here gone abroad with their Korean missus (or Mr.) to work in a Korean international school? If so how was it? If you haven't would you consider it, or do you have too much going on in Korea? |

They really have Korean International Schools?
Why wouldn't the Korean kids just go to an English International School and kill 2 birds with one stone? Lots of Koreans send their kids to places like India to do just that. |

| hmmm interesting mate, thanks for opening my eyes. Me and my missus were considering working in Britain for awhile, but as a korea we think it would be harder for her to find a good job there (have no idea really) but what your suggesting looks interesting....ill keep watching this thread haha. Id def consider it, maybe not China but Vietnam could be cool... |

Why don't Americans with kids living abroad send their kids to a French/Spanish international school instead of an American/British one and kill two birds with one stone? Or a local language school? WHY DON'T THEY!! (Because they think that 'their' language is good enough and the extra exposure they're getting for free in an international setting will be useful enough anyway)
Ok? Dumbass. |

Good luck guy. If you go to the UK let me know what your missus ends up doing, because mine might be in the same boat in a few years. My missus was kinda keen on opening up a Korean restaurant.. from the prices I've seen at K-restaurants around London it might not be such a bad idea haha. They're pretty expensive.
Get your wife/gf to check out the international jobs too.. a country like Vietnam will have lots of employment opportunities for you too. |

Well, I would say that the visa issue is similar to if you were to go to China and have your wife join you.
If your wife gets accepted for a position in China, she should contact the schools Foreign Affairs Office and ask them what documents are needed to get you a spousal visa.
There are Korean international schools all over China and once a person gets locked into a position in one, they will get the experience to work at any of the others in China.
Good luck! |

Wow! I was just asking.
But since your being an asshole and calling me names, your reasoning doesn't make sense. You can't compare Americans learning French with Koreans learning English. Since when do Koreans think that only 'their' language is good enough? You haven't got a clue what you're talking about. |
