| My POINT was that most conservatives would show more class than that whether they liked Bush or not. |
No doubt you're right. The redneck wing of your party is known for displays of class.
And as many people here at Dave's have said, "Steve, if you put your hat on, your POINT won't show." |

As far as this statement about Republicans having more class, Steve, you keep on hurling insults all the time when arguing. How is that classy for one? As far as the Baker thing, it was said supposedly when he was having a conversation with someone about Israel. I understand him saying it in anger and resentment, but it is not classy still if he said that.
There was no microphone, it was attributed to him.
The idea of freedom fries was not very classy now was it? That reminded me of the idea of liberty cabbage when people were upset with the Germans. The French opposed the war, but they were still an allies, and the person who came up with the freedom fries idea later adopted the views of the French interestingly enough. And no, it is not classy to call allies - "Old Europe" at all. Insulting your allies is a lack of class. Again, I am not saying Democrats have more class or Republicans have more class. You brought that idea up. Anyway, in a crowd of 40,000 fans, I would wager many were people who voted for Bush. I understand you seem to think Democrats are morally bankrupt and Republicans are somehow holier.

OK. Here's my take on it.
If the fans rushed the field, severed his head (to atone for the millions of innocents who've suffered death or other forms of extreme unwarranted repression as a result of his actions), unceremoniously placed it on a pike (for traditional medieval display) then I'd say, "That wasn't very classy" (by modern standards anyway).
But, short of that, what are you all bloviating about, anyway? |

Did anyone see with Bush getting intensely booed at the national opener?
I wouldn't want to be in his shoes.... I suppose he was expecting that... |
Sucks to be him. |

a few years back i was in st.louis when he threw out the opening day pitch. we had a discussion as to boo or not. we cheered not so much as booing would make the city look bad.
sniper teams on the roof. beer venders were obviously military ( clean cut young fit white guys instead of middle aged, paunchy ones). lotsa folks lost nice pocket knifes as homeland security was checking everyone (but such wasn't announced thru the media before hand).
orwellian day. |

Well, I do feel compassion for Bush having had to endure this, but I also feel compassion for those who booed him, because many have had friends in the military who went to war based on lies and easily up to 15,000 soldiers have been insured. I remember a figure of 11,000, but that was a long time ago. The media for some reason doesn't talk much about how many wounded soldiers there are... I don't know why... The media should be booed, too, because they are a major reason why the war happened. Bush and company did what they did, because so many let him get away with it. Considering the major losses America has suffered and that middle class Americans of all parties have to pay for a war based on lies, and the lies were uncovered, because the PR job was horrible, and the reasons for the war were bad and fell apart under scrutiny. They handled everything horribly. I wouldn't be happy about a war I would have to pay for when it when it was clear I was lied to...
It doesn't mean I don't feel for Bush being booed by 40,000 people. |

I really didn't hear much booing.

| Do real liberals go to baseball games? Wouldn't proper liberals be busy protesting things or attending the ballet or other cultural events? |

He's had a lot of crap thrown at him and while he didn't always handle it well I shudder to think of how Gore would have reacted to 9-11. |
McGarrett,
Speculate a minute for me. In a reasonable and honest fashion, tell me how you think Al Gore might have reacted to 9/11. Then tell me where you think America would be today, versus with the Bush team.

re: the booing clip...when i see stuff like that i always want to know where the mic is.
the cheap seats (way up high) mighta been much more vocal while the nice seats down low might have more of a monetary/financial backing for the pres.
this was DC. too bad he didn't do Philly. after this he'll be limited to visit aircraft carriers (ala the last days of Johnson). |

Shows me how many Americans of the liberal persuasion lack class.
And he's tossed out better pitches than any president, too. The one a few years back was almost in the strike zone. This one was high but made it over the plate, not like the ones Clinton dribbled out.
I also heard lots of cheers among those jeers. |
Pure "No true scotsman fallacy." You have no way of identifying who booed, or how many, or who cheered. |
