I was placed by this recruiting company in 2006. When problems concerning timely payment and wrongful dismissal arose during month 13 with my employer, I contacted them to inform them of their choice of clients.

Their response to me was that they had spoken with my director and in an email to me it was EMP's opinion that "Korea does not need white trash like you."

So if considering using this recruiting company, first, please consider - Does Korea need white trash like you?

Interesting. I have just started working for E.M.P and manged to negotiate my salary to be paid every 2 weeks. Intially their response was "Why don't you trust us?" I should have said, "because I'm white trash.

it's amazing what some Ks in the U.S. will pick up as seemingly appropriate English.

considering how widespread K immigration is in the states, no doubt someone somewhere heard this term and just assumed it was ok for them to use it, because, after all, they are K and Ks are better than foreigners therefore they must aso be good enough to use such denigrating terms despite the fact the very same terms are considered to be used only by the most uneducated, biased, bigoted jerks this side of the Mason Dixon line.

Sounds less like racism and more like they talked to your director and he told them a story that vilified you. Unfortunately, because he's Korean and pays their salary, they will believe him and not you.

Is it really necessary to use such unsavoury language? What kind of company communicates with its employees in this way? Maybe they simply don't understand the vulgarity of using the phrase 'white trash'.

Perhaps they'll understand the severity of it when the person addressed by that term responds with a racial epithet directed at them. I really wouldn't be at all surprised if someone were to respond in such a manner.

I think they do understand. Do you really think it is difficult for a Korean to grasp the meaning of "white trash"?

Then again, maybe their dictionary lied to them. Rolling Eyes

Many Koreans use this disparaging term when refering to white English teachers generally. It's part of the whole 'can't get a job back home' view of westerners in Korea those teaching English. Unfortunately, they don't realise that it is infinitely more difficult for graduates to find graduate entry level jobs in the west - certainly in the UK - than it is for Koreans upon graduating.

Once again, I will say it:

Revenge is a wonderful thing. After going home you can then proceed to ask every Korean woman if she is a hooker and every Korean man if he cleans toilets.

I don't know why we shouldn't hold onto our anger. I really will not be nice to Koreans after I go home. I will say every insult very directly. If they are fat, then I will say, "You are fat". If they are ugly, then I will say to their face, "You are ugly". Koreans have no concept of the subtle insult.

Some more choice quotes:

"I have been listening both of you and the school, you're making NO F*CKING SENSE"

"sure, I'll let them know this ASAP so that they could call the cop and make you leave the country ASAP"

"why didn't you leave the school before?
you stayed there becuase you were getting paid high and didn't really do sh*t."

"you've asked to the desk lady to open the safe and see if there is money? what kind of piece of sh*t would do this? are you stupid or something?"

"I've been recruiting long enough to understand that we don't need your kind of white trash. Vice-pricipal told me he will call the cop and go to APT if you don't leave there by noon. I hope you don't leave there, so that the cop could take you to the jail and make you leave without anything."

"I've personally asked the principal to call the police if you don't leave today or tomorrow morning. sorry, I think you need to learn the lesson hard way."

"also, I'll put your name and resume on our black list, we actually do have Union. and also, I'm e-mailing all the praivte and public elementary, middle, high and Uni that saying that you're on our black list. all we have to do is list you on our union web-site and everybody will know about you."

it's not about you don't belong in Korea, it's not about working with bad principal

your kind of white trash should learn how to respect people.

Plz DO NOT waste my time."

Give me their e-mail address via PM. I'm going to hit some buttons. These tools need to learn how to communicate in English without coming across as complete f*ckballs. Sadly, they think their lingo is cool; they don't realise how f*cking stupid they sound. Thank goodness I only ever came accross Koreans like that in shady hangouts like N.B.

LOL... my first 'K-boss' (public position) gave me a book that had "Fucking terrible" as an 'appropriate' response to the question "How are you?" Rolling Eyes
