OK between reading this forum and opinions from my friends, I am lost as to what I need to do to get another E2 Visa.

I am currently in Korea, am not going to renew with the same hakwon. So as far as the following is concerned, whats the word?

1. Consulate Interview: I know that this is not mandatory if renewing, but since im LEAVING Korea to go to Thailand, do I need to go back to the states and have it?

2. Criminal Check, can I have it apostilled here in Korea like ive heard recently.

3. Degree and Transcripts: Ive heard that I need to have those apostilled also......

4. blood work/medical exam, is this mandatory before or after the visa is issued and how?

Thanks to anyone who knows whats up.

well i'm confused, you're getting a visa for thailand?

anyway i can't answer the first two with any certainty, but

3. my company just wants sealed/stamped transcripts sent to them with all the other documents

4. the physical exam will be conducted by their own mafia doctor in korea, but there is a health statement i have to fill out beforehand.

although if you say youre leaving korea for thailand, i have no idea what thailand teaching/work visas require. i didn't know they had the same requirements as korea (do they?)

what I meant to ask was do I need to have an interview for my new E2 visa if I leave the country to travel? My friend told me that I lose the privaledge of not having to have one if I leave the country.

IF you have completed at least 1 contract on a previous E2 you do not have to return home for the interview. You can obtain your E2 in a 3rd country.

Another genius that can't type 'Korea' and 'Immigration' into a search on Google.

I went back to the US for two weeks after my first contract, and when I went to get my new visa at hte consulate in New York, they said I did not need an interview because I had already taught here for a year.

That DOESN'T mean that every consulated will do that...
