welcome to the most boring thread in dave's history.

1. gay dudes kissing - boring. who cares what people do in their spare time? if you saw a heterosexual couple sucking face would it register? no.

2. koreans accepting odd behavior - who wants to bet that this rocked the boat about as much as 23 year old university grad from melbourne or ottawa holding hands with korean girlfriend?

Well...you can always go back to posting about your exciting trip to Japan. I am sure you are the only one on this forum to have done that. Or, I am sure you can find more to contribute on the topic of "who were the first to use chili peppers in cooking."

fool, had you read that thread, i have actually moved to apan and the purpose of posting about it was to give a comparative look at expat life from my perspective. very useful in my opinion, and the 8 pages of posts with criticisms, questions and observations shows that other people agree. so blow me.

i just don't find homosexuality all that shocking. am i wrong? i'm bored by the korean press making it an issue. yeah yeah i know it's a conservative country but god... does it need to be in the paper? does it need to be commented on? maybe. i just get frustrated with what other people lose their shit over when i've had a few beers.

Have you ever considered giving up drinking? At the very least it might improve your writing.

no, drinking's great. have you ever considered giving up composing shoddy arguments?

Argument? Where? Possibly you are confusing the word argument with comment? Or, possibly your hangover has you in a bit of a haze? I am not arguing with you. I am simply suggesting you might better spend your time contributing your self-proclaimed useful insight on topics ranging from living in Japan to What part did you play in band class? elsewhere.

hate to be a pedantic fruit, but i'm in good company it seems.

last time i checked "Have you ever considered giving up drinking? At the very least it might improve your writing." was an argument in favor of not posting drunk, and "Well...you can always go back to posting about your exciting trip to Japan. I am sure you are the only one on this forum to have done that. Or, I am sure you can find more to contribute on the topic of "who were the first to use chili peppers in cooking." was an argument for me not contributing to threads in a way that crams fistfuls of sand into your vagina.

i posted here for years. i continue to use this board as a resource for things korea, because i still love the place. something comes up, i comment. don't like it? don't read it.

"Don't like it? Don't read it." I couldn't agree with you more. Why don't you follow some of your own "useful" advice. And if you love Korea so much why don't you at least give it the respect it deserves and spell it with a capital letter. Or, does hitting the shift key require you to pluck your pinky out of your arse?

i read it and gave my opinion. perhaps i should have clarified in saying the thread itself wasn't boring, but people's reactions that were boring.

capitalization is for essays, not for the internet. where do you think you are?

Has anyone informed all the capital letters on the Internet about this?

here's a news report and a blog with pics not fuzzy.

I propose that all westerners in Korea gather on the steps of the National Assembly building next Sunday and make out with the same-sex partner of their choice (you straight folks can make it a dry kiss if you like) just to freak the Koreans out and maybe open a few eyes (and minds). Any takers?
