No tie, no top button. Ever.
For formal events the top bottom will be done up with the tie. But, after the civility of the formal event ends, and the dancing and drinking begins, the top button comes undone. |

A lot of Koreans seem to like the suit/no tie/top button done up look.
Personally I think it's a crime as the simple remove the tie undo the top button look is a timeless classic.
I was told that doing the top button up is more polite here though. |
